Today was unexpectedly a fun day???
Didn't exactly expect to have fun with this group.
But I guessed helping friends to swipe their tinder is fun?? LOLOL.
But that's the only thing that's fun though.
And using people's accounts to swipe is more fun? HAHA.
Think I stopped when a friend say she wanted to use my phone to create a tinder account. Lolol.
Pasta is unexpectedly good too?? Yayy.
The desserts there were really pretty?? Haha.
Watched Finding Dory yesterday too.
Waterway Point is so pretty too! Maybe bc it's new.
My guy friend said that if I were less aunty-like I'd find a boyfriend. LOL.
Shall continue my part 2 of my Japan trip, else I'd forget it forever. LOL.
Day 6: Monday, May 30th
- Left our airbnb apartment. Had gotten used to the place at point in time.
- Got on to bullet train.
- Dragged my life away as I dragged my luggage to the train station, LOL.
- Reached Shinjuku. Way here was smooth. English on trains. #englishftw
- Bought our return airport ticket, and Hakone pass.
- Bought Starbucks. On hindsight, I shouldn't have bought it. Bc there was a drizzle, and had to drag our luggage to our Tokyo hotel.
- Means I had to carry/protect my drink from the rain + drag my luggage.
- That hotel was a little dubious. Walked past quite a bit of massage services and the sort. LOL.
- Luckily that hotel was for one night only.
- No stairs too. Had to bring up the stairs for a few levels? OTL.
- Went back out after checking in and went to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
- Went to the post office to buy stamps.
- No netflix at the hotel, so we watched some Japanese shows.
Day 7: Tuesday, May 31st
- One of the most horrifying day of my life. Luggage couldn't open.
- And oh, another scary thing was LM hearing a woman's scream on one of our last nights at Osaka?? In the middle of the night. I couldn't hear it. But I couldn't go back to sleep too. LOL.
- Left luggage as it is at Toyoko Inn, and then went to One Piece Tower.
- Didn't get to watch the live play. ಥ_ಥ
- Didn't go up the observatory too ಥ_ಥ
- Left and went to Shibuya crossing
- Luggage issue thankfully settled that night /insertsprayingemoji
Day 8: Wednesday, 1st June
- Day of Butler cafe LOL
- The reason why Japan exists
- Went to Akihabara first
- Had my first Baked Cheesecake @ Atre 1
- I think I drank a total of 3 times??
- Watched SHINee's SNL skit as I drank my Starbucks, LOL
- Thought there wasn't much to see in Akihabara
- Pleasantly surprised there were still something I'd like? Bought some Midorima stuff.
- Weird thing was I didn't see Jump Shop there
- Had saizeriya for lunch!
- Went to Ikebukuro after that
- Should have gone there for a longer period of time, bc it was too rushed???
- ANIMATE IN IKEBUKURO WAS SO AWESOME
- SO MUCH MORE AWESOME THAN THE ONE IN AKIHABARA
- Felt like my soul was crushed, as KNB is going to open a temporary cafe there in July ಥ_ಥ
- Didn't even feel like going to Butler cafe bc Animate was too awesome LOL
- But yup, left anyway lolol
- HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP
- Slot was at 4.30pm
- We had a total of 80 minutes of time in the cafe itself
- Butlers and everyone in there were speaking in Japanese
- No phones allowed; so no one could take any photo. Not even of the pretty food/pretty layout of the cafe itself
- First, upon confirming my name and number of people, we were led to an area to wait.
- After a while, they called us, and spoke in Japanese. Presumably about the rules??? They then collected our plastic bags (bought a book from Animate) and placed them in a locker
- Started laughing like crazy omg. Laughed all the way to the seat Idk why
- Was seated in some corner where I couldn't see the entire cafe. A little sad though.
- Attempted looking around our seats and touched the story books. Think the cafe even had chandeliers in there??? Lol.
- LM said we had to act like a lady, but lol apparently my brain wasn't working
- Kept looking at other people
- Mostly girls were there
- There was a couple too
- Butler had left a key (for our plastic bags) on our table, there was also a bell for us to ring when we were ready to order
- Price has gone considerably up? The price I saw a blogger writing about Swallowtail was 2,500+ yen
- Ordered a set at 3,600 yen (about S$45.56); one person had to order one set
- Lady opposite me was so at home there. Kept staring at her, and staring at the other butlers too
- She talked to almost all the butlers there????? Omggg, I so want to converse with them but my level of Japanese is ಥ_ಥ
- Our butler was a megane, reminds me of Midorima (*´◡`*)
- Tbqh, didn't think he was good-looking at first, but the more I looked at him the better he looks? HAHA
- Even I thought the way I asked for tissue was so retarded. Think the butler serving our table BTH me LOLOL
- Supposed to say something like tissue, onegaishimasu. Instead I said, tissue, tissue. OTL
- Supposed to eat like a lady too, but guess I failed that too ಥ_ಥ
- Food had meat in them, so I had to scrape them off lol
- Didn't get a chance to say without meat bc of my level of Japanese. Sobs
- Actually was intending to share the set with LM, then the butler proceeded to ask LM for her order, lol. Then I forgot to mention about the no-meat thing too
- Food was really nice
- Saw butlers accompanying the ladies to the toilet, so I had to try it
- Rang the bell and asked to go to the toilet HAHA
- Even carried my bag for me lol, went to leave my bag at the chairs outside the toilet since I didn't want to bring it in since I was carrying my water bottle
- Butler looked weirdly at me LOL
- Couldn't blame him, think he must secretly be wanting to get rid of me asap LOLOL
- Toilet was so pretty??? And spacious. Toilet paper even had rose pattern on them.
- Went back out, and there was another butler waiting there, leading me back to my table.
- Even placed the towel back on my lap. Awww
- Dessert appeared on my table. It was quite nice?? Looks so pretty too. Sad I couldn't take photo of the food.
- I think us being english speakers, kind of made it hard for them to approach us? They did come to our table to refill our plain water though. And so many times I wanted to talk to them, but my Japanese
- ಥ_ಥ x 999999999999999
- Bet the butlers were thinking I was so un-ladylike too. Sigh
- Time just passed by so quickly, then the butler came and told us we had 10 minutes left.
- Practically wolved down my dessert and tea in 10 minutes, bc I was like so chill eating and staring at the people and butlers
- The table before us had a really pretty/elegant lady so I was staring at her too HAHA
- Seems to be korean, in a table of 4
- Butler explained some kind of membership thing for the cafe??? Had to register online.
- No idea of what Japanese was being spoken to me, so I kept staring at LM in hopes of her being my translator, lolol
- Soon left the cafe, with the butlers saying their goodbye speech or something. Or send off speech?? No idea what they were saying ಥ_ಥ
- Wanted to say sorry for my retarded behavior, but didn't at the end LOL
- Walked out from my seat, more sane(I would think???)), but still kept looking around at the entire layout of the cafe and rest of the butlers
- All of them said bye
- Once we exited the cafe, I felt like I left another world behind. Like whoa, what just happened to 80 minutes of my life??? Hahahahahah
- Went to the souvenir shop opposite, but didn't see our butler there. They were selling something like keepsake cards?? With their faces lol
- They were selling food like their scones, and jam etc too
- There was Butler musical too haha
- Ended up not getting anything from there
- Went back to Animate, and walked a short while
- Didn't have dinner that day, since butler cafe costs 3600 yen lol
- Couldn't sleep that night.
- Brain kept replaying what went on at the butler cafe LOLOL
Day 9: Thursday, June 2nd
- Day of Hakone
- Tbqh, everything was quite fast. There wasn't a need to worry so much about the itinerary bc everyone is going to the same places, as we are all tourists LOL
- Oh, and the guy we bought our Hakone pass had the best spoken English for a Japanese???
- Did the typical route recommended by the Japan guide web here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5210.html
- Hakone's itinerary was planned by me. And I didn't really bother about the details
- Like should it be Ancient Cedar Avenue first?? Or should we actually see the shrine first
- So tbqh, I didn't even know if the Ancient Cedar Avenue was supposed to be where we were walking on or not lolol
- In my head it would all work out anyway when we are there physically, so didn't really bother
- Maybe LM bth this point of mine?? But I seriously couldn't navigate google map ಥ_ಥ
- Here's one short convo I remember being held there LOL
- We were resting our tired feet
- LM: Being at the countryside feels so chill and scenic
- Me: I can't live in this type of place since there won't be internet/wifi, I definitely can't survive without my wifi/internet
- LM: -Continues saying something like won't die without wifi-
- Me: -Looks at her whatsapping her friend about where she is- /didntcommentanything
- I think Hakone is a common place for people to go to onsens??
- There were quite a number of shuttle buses at Hakone Yumoto station itself
- You can just randomly board one and go to any onsen, haha
- Went there to eat ice cream, since the massage place was fully booked
- Had Cocoichibanya for dinner, this time with reduced rice LOL
Day 10: Friday, June 3rd
- Day at Odaiba + Hedgehog cafe
- Had the baked cheesecake drink again at Divercity
- Funny thing was we only knew of the group when we are there
- Thought the group name was uplotion > up-1-otion > up10tion (corrected by LM's friend lol)
- Went to get Hello Kitty ice cream and proceeded sitting around the venue for a while
- Then went to look around Odaiba
- Wind was so strong at the area that my split-back top flew upwards
- Became a flasher in Japan for that few seconds omg
- Went back out after eating to check if the idols have arrived
- Wanted to buy an album if I could get their autographs straightaway
- But dropped the idea afterwards, bc the cards in the tickets were in Japanese
- Wouldn't have known what I've won ಥ_ಥ
- Didn't have time to see through the end of the event
- Am going to be amazed Japanese girls touch up their makeup, rather than screaming their heads off (as in SG)
- Odaiba is a really nice and calming place
- Wasn't expecting much of this place, but it was definitely better than expected
- Headed to Roppongi for Hedgehog cafe @ http://www.harinezumi-cafe.com/english/
- Most of my time was spent staring at the hedgehog
- Bc after attempting to carry my hedgehog, I inflicted internal damage to it.
- Fed my neighbour's hedgehog bc mine was curled into a ball
- Had intended to give the plate of worms to him though LOL
- Bc was kind of shocked that the worms actually move
- He offered to let me feed his hedgehog after feeding his once, haha
- Wonder where the guy came from, he looks Asian, but his English had a certain accent ヽ(◕◡◕❀ฺ )ノ
- Overestimated our stomachs
- Ended up not being able to finish 2 whole pancakes. Ate like 1.25 pancakes?
- Couldn't takeaway :(
- This place was full of tai-tais, lol. And afterwards we realized everyone else only ordered 1 pancake
Day 11: Saturday, June 4th
- Last minute shopping + back to SG
- Went to Isetan to get POLA stuff for my mom. Pricing there was like $50+ cheaper for my mom's item????
- Super rushed; ended up not eating lunch
- Took the Narita Express back to terminal 1, and had lunch there
- Soon came back to SG, with my shiroi koibito and tokyo banana etcヾ( ❀◕◡◕ฺฺ )ノ
- Watched movie on the plane back and I cried. Watched Brave and The Good Dinosaur
- Either on the plane to Japan, or the one returning back to Singapore, haha
Side track a bit, our main Shinjuku's stay at Toyoko Inn is only like 2 minutes away from host clubs??? HAHAHAHAHAH. I just realized. Omgggggggg.
No wonder LM said there were kpop-idol lookalikes that I missed them as I was playing Notice Me Senpai. They must have been hosts, LOLOL.
OMGGGG, could have just walked around the area and satisfy my curiosity.
That said, finally done with my recount for Tokyo part! Omg. I think I typed this for 4 hours.
